If you have bad weather or bad breath, it can affect your confidence. Store-bought toothpastes often fail to address and address the root cause of bad breath.
What are the causes of Halitosis?
Here are some causes of bad breath:
- Food. Eating foods with a strong smell such as durian, garlic, onions and other spices can cause bad breath. Not only that but the breakdown of food particles in your mouth can allow bacteria to thrive and cause a foul odour.
- Smoking. Smokers and oral tobacco users are more likely to have gum disease which could also lead to bad breath.
- Poor dental hygiene. Food particles could remain in your mouth if you don’t brush or floss regularly. This can result in plaque buildup which may lead to tooth decay and gum infection. Plaque can trap bacteria that can produce foul odour therefore causing bad breath.
To prevent halitosis, it is best for you to practice proper dental hygiene right after eating smelly foods. Clean your tongue regularly as it is one of the prominent spots for bacterial growth.
