Check-Ups and Cleanings
Semi-annual cleanings and professional oral exams are the foundations of a clean mouth and a healthy smile. We encourage you to maintain your oral wellness with regular check-ups and cleanings at our Summit Dental office in West Edmonton.
During these appointments, our friendly and skilled dental hygienists use gentle cleaning techniques to eliminate:
- Surface stains on the teeth
- Plaque buildup, which refers to bacteria accumulation on the teeth that can progress to decay, gingivitis, and advanced gum disease if left untreated
- Tartar (calculus), or hardened plaque on the enamel that can only be removed through scaling
Some patients may require deeper rehabilitation as a result of prior gum disease and/or periodontal work. One of our dentists will review your past history and assess the treatment for your needs.
